The Euphonium

The euphonium is a conical-bore instrument, meaning the euphonium's tubing gradually increases in diameter throughout its length, resulting in a softer, gentler tone. This tenor-voiced brass instrument derives its name from the Greek word euphonos, meaning "well-sounding" or "sweet-voiced". This dark, rich sounding instrument consists of about 9 feet of tubing.
