The Viola
The viola is the second smallest, member of the violin consort consisting of a non-fretted fingerboard and four strings tuned in perfect fifths. The viola is usually played with a bow, but at times may be plucked using a technique called pizzacatto. The viola is an alto instrument playing slightly lower than that of the violin.
Modern Viola
